"Happenings on the Hill" 5/22/08

The Clarendon College baseball team pulled out a second place finish in the NJCAA Region V Tournament last week in Lubbock. The team lost to Grayson County in the championship game with a score of 8-1.

The Bulldogs began the tournament on Sunday, May 11, against Temple College and won 13-5. The Bulldogs then took on Weatherford College Monday night in the second round of the tournament and won that game 19-3.

The Bulldogs played Grayson County College on Tuesday night in the third round and lost 7-5. After two teams were eliminated for a brawl and forfeited their spots in the tournament, Clarendon matched up against Grayson County again for the championship game.

We would like to congratulate the team on a successful season and thank everyone who supported the Bulldogs this year.

Pre-registration for the summer and fall semesters is underway. If you are interested in taking any courses this summer session or in the fall, please stop by and see us to get signed up. Classes are filling up quickly, so don’t delay. Summer I Session classes begin June 9 and Summer II Session classes begin July 14. A schedule of classes is available on our website www.clarendoncollege.edu or you can get one by stopping by the Student Services office in the Instructional Center. The college’s business hours changed for the summer. Our summer hours are now 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Thursday and we will be closed on Fridays. Regular hours will return in August.
